The latest update to Mainnet 3.0 is now available! At blockheight 10968061, Theta Mainnet 3.0 will be activated (approximately 12 pm-3 pm PT Wednesday, June 30, 2021).

Users on MacOS should have their Edge Node updated by now, with Windows users following suit in the coming hours. Also, Linux users should be aware that the long-awaited Linux Edge Node will be available in the coming weeks.

What are the Mainnet 3.0 updates?

On June 30th, between 12pm and 3pm PT, TFUEL Staking will be enabled on the Edge Node. Edge Node Holder (Summary) is utilized for placing a TFUEL to stake by selecting Stake TFUEL. It is found on the left side of the Edge Node screen.

Theta Wallet users will be able to stake a TFUEL to this Edge Node address starting with the launch of Mainnet 3.0 on June 30. When you click Deposit Stake in the Stakes part of the Theta Wallet, a new Edge Node section appears. Then you can select this.

Staking TFuel tokens to a Guardian Node works similarly to staking Theta tokens. Earnings will be credited to the wallet from which the user staked. Staked TFuel can only be withdrawn to the wallet from which the user staked. There is a 60-hour unstaking period after a TFuel withdrawal before the staked tokens appear in the Theta Wallet. To foster decentralization and an increasing number of Edge Nodes, a maximum of 500,000 TFuel can be staked to each Edge Node at this time. The minimum is 10,000 TFuel. There is a 60-hour unstaking period after you withdraw your TFuel before your staked tokens show on your Theta Wallet.

How to simplify wallet function?

Edge Node wallet function has been simplified. Now only one wallet will be utilized for both EdgeCast and Edge Cache/Compute revenue. Each Edge Node will be assigned this address at random. Please keep in mind that this wallet is only available on a single computer! If a computer is lost or a hard drive is damaged, the user will lose access to this Edge Node wallet and any tokens stored inside unless the user has backed up their data. If a user anticipates having a large number of tokens, it is recommended that they select the Export Wallet as Keystore option in the dropdown menu, create a keystore password, and then back up the keystore file delivered to the Downloads folder on a separate computer.

Wallet Send is a function that allows users to send their TFUEL earnings to any other Theta Wallet they own. Simply select Open Wallet from the Edge Node’s left-hand menu, then enter the address and token type/amount to be sent to another Theta Wallet address.

The last pre-EEN incentives will be mailed in July and will include those earned from both May and June. To avoid confusion, these pending earnings will be erased in the new version.

There will most likely be a period of transition when the Theta community begins staking on mainnet, therefore the stated number will drop temporarily before growing to a much bigger amount as mainnet staking begins.
